Scott Nordin grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota where he played soccer through high school. His coaching experience has spanned the majority of two decades. Scott began his coaching career in the mid 1990’s with the GGFSC for five years. He spent four seasons coaching middle school soccer with the Grand Forks Public Schools, followed by one season as the head coach for the girls varsity high school team in Crookston, MN. His career culminated at his alma mater Grand Forks Central High School coaching three seasons as the head boys varsity coach and nine seasons as the girls varsity head coach. Scott was named North Dakota coach of the year, as selected by his peers, in 2004.

Lisa Vojacek

Lisa Vojacek grew up in Cedar Rapids, IA where she was actively involved in club and competitive soccer. Soccer brought her to the University of North Dakota in 2002 where she played for four years as a center defender. At UND, she met her husband, John and together they decided to make Grand Forks their home. John and Lisa have two boys (Jake and Josh) who keep them on their toes! Lisa has been the girls assistant varsity coach at Grand Forks Central for the last 12 years, as well as one of the coaches of the Valley Middle School boys soccer team. This is Lisa's second year working with GGFSC.

Tucker Meillier

Tucker Meillier has played soccer since he started walking and began playing competitive soccer in sixth grade. In high school, he played Premier soccer as well as three years on the varsity team. For the vast majority of this time, Tucker played as goalkeeper. Tucker has been a referee all over the state of Minnesota; refereeing tournaments like USA Cup, State Cup, and Development academy. Tucker started coaching in 2012 when he coached a U14 C3 team. He is focused on creating a passion for the sport in his players. Tucker holds a USSF National “D” license and USC Goalkeeper Level 1.

This is Tucker's third year with GGFSC.  This season, Tucker is the head coach of the U10/11 and U17/18/19 boys teams.

Killashandra Link

Killashandra Link was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and began her love of soccer at the age of five. Throughout her soccer career she experienced many different styles of coaching, game strategies, team diversity and development and various levels of competitive play. This experience started with her Omaha Soccer Club team, Gladiator 90/91 Blue, playing in the State Championship, participating in several tournaments as well as college showcases. During this same time, she also played on the Olympic Development Program state team for Nebraska, making it to the Regional Pool and winning the Regional Championship. She also traveled overseas playing in Holland with the Dutch Touch Soccer Academy experiencing a very different style of play and culture around the game of soccer. She continued playing at the high school level on the Varsity Team at Marian High School in Omaha, Nebraska while at the same time being the assistant coach for a U13 Girls team in the Omaha Soccer Club. In 2009 she moved to Moorhead, Minnesota attending Concordia College playing on the Concordia College Women’s Soccer team where during her time there the team were MIAC Champions twice, had three National Appearances in the Sweet 16 as well as receiving the MIP (Most Improved Player) Award in her Freshman year.

After college, she moved to Dubuque, Iowa to work on her Master’s Degree. While there she spent the next three years coaching for the Dubuque Soccer Club as both head coach and assistant. In 2016, she moved out to Littleton, Colorado to complete her clinical residency and continued her coaching passion as an assistant coach for the Mile High Academy Girls Varsity Soccer Team. In the spring of 2017 she coached a U10 girls team with the Littleton Soccer Club. 

Killashandra has continued to expand her knowledge and love of the game by earning her United States Soccer Federation National E and D Licenses. Her next goal is to earn her C license through the experience she will gain coaching for the Greater Grand Forks Soccer Club in her third season.

Nobel Rhen

Nobel Rhen was born in Austin, Texas where he started playing soccer at the age of 4, until he moved to East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Nobel grew up playing soccer, hockey, baseball, lacrosse, and tennis. He now enjoys playing golf with his friends. Nobel played three years of varsity at East Grand Forks Senior High and two years playing summer soccer with GGFSC. He has coached U9 boys and U12 girls for GGFSC. He has also helped his twin brother coach the U10 boys team.

Nobel is a UND alumni, with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Banking and Financial Economics. He is planning on pursing his MBA at the University of North Dakota. 

Marcus Tanabe

Marcus Tanabe started playing soccer in Grand Forks as a youth. He played five years of varsity soccer, three of those years at Red River, before his family moved to the Twin Cities. Marcus continued playing soccer throughout high school for Hill-Murray. While in the Twin Cities, Marcus played U19 for two years with the Bloomington Football Club as well. He was recruited to play at St. John’s University before sustaining a season-ending injury.

Marcus has four boys and has enjoyed coaching them for the past several years in GGFSC's rec program. Coaching, especially coaching soccer, is an opportunity to fulfill one of Marcus’s life goals.

Mitchell Heigaard McGurran

Mitch Heigaard was born and raised in Grand Forks. He started playing soccer at the age of 8 and joined GGFSC playing from U11 through U18 for the club. Mitch attended and played 4 years at Red River High School. After graduating from Red River, Mitch joined the Red River Boys coaching staff and has been coaching for five years. This is Mitch’s fourth year coaching with the club.

Patrick Colter

Patrick started playing for GGFSC when he was 8 years old.  He played on Red River High Schools varsity team all of his high school years and was captain his senior year. He also played for Red River Soccer Club.  

This is Patrick's fifth year coaching for GGFSC.  He is also a coach for the Red River High School boys and girls teams.

Tommy Ellis

Tommy Ellis played on the varsity high school team in East Grand Forks since his Freshman year.  He played soccer for GGFSC for two years and loves coaching and learning. This is Tommy's third year coaching with GGFSC, and his first year as head coach.

Derek Hoffert

Lauren Marshall

Lauren Marshall is from Kasson, Minnesota. She began playing soccer when she was 5 years old through Rochester Youth Soccer Association. From there she began playing through Kasson-Mantorville middle school and into high school as a midfielder. She has coached recreational soccer with her hometown organization in the past, however this will be her first year with GGFSC as head coach for the U9 girls’ team.

Lauren has spent the last 4 years in Grand Forks as a student at UND. She is entering her final year at UND in the physical therapy program. Lauren is greatly looking forward to working with the players and helping them grow their skills as well as their passion for soccer!

Serenity Hanson

Serenity Hanson is a sophomore at the University of North Dakota and has played soccer since the age of four. She has a great passion for outdoor activities and sports. She was the captain of her high school varsity soccer team for 3 years and captain on her club competitive team for 5 years.

This is Serenity's first year with GGFSC and she will be the head coach for the U13 Girls team and the assistant coach for the U10 Girls team.

Laura Hafenstein

Laura Hafenstein was born in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. She has called Grand Forks her home for 4 years as she studies athletic training, kinesiology, and coaching at the University of North Dakota. Her devotion to soccer started at the age of 5. She competed in recreational and traveling club teams in Wisconsin competing in both indoor and outdoor soccer. Her love for soccer continued throughout high school where she volunteered at various soccer camps as an assistant coach. In addition, she has coached basketball, track and field, and volunteers at various summer athletic camps in Wisconsin.

Laura was a member of the UND track and field team from 2017-2018 and takes the skills she learned from a highly competitive track and field program and converts them into applicable skills that can be utilized in soccer. This is Laura’s first year coaching for the GGFSC.

Luke Glasoe

Luke Glasoe grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he enjoyed playing soccer for both competitive soccer teams as well as for his high school soccer team. He moved to Grand Forks to attend the University of North Dakota where he studied mathematics and economics. While in college Luke started coaching soccer for local schools and also for GGFSC. He is a high school math teacher at Red River High School, where he has also been the Head Boys Soccer Coach since 2012 and is currently and Assistant Coach with the Red River Girls soccer team.

Jen Hodny

Jen Hodny played high school soccer at Red River High School where she has also been an assistant coach.  She played club soccer for both GGFSC and in Michigan.  Jen played for the University of North Dakota Women's Soccer team from 1999-2003.  Jen has also coached for the UND Women's team, including serving as interim head coach in the spring of 2005.  She was also a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Montana's women's soccer program.

Jen started coaching for GGFSC in 2000, coaching several of our competitive teams between 2000 and 2005.  She returned to coaching for GGFSC in the fall of 2019 and has for the past two years been coaching with her college teammate, Lisa Vojacek.  Jen strives to promote an environment where players can develop their skills and tactics while still having fun.  Jen holds a United States Soccer Federation National C coaching license.

Lorenzo Ramirez

Lorenzo Ramirez was born in Columbus, OH but, grew up in Kansas City, MO and has been involved with soccer his whole life. He started playing soccer at 5 years old being taught by his father at the local YMCA. Lorenzo continued to develop his skills and passion for the game, playing varsity midfield/forward positions for his High School. Joined the Air Force in 2006 and has lived in Italy, Germany, Alaska, and now Grand Forks. Playing with local clubs in those two countries he has gained many different perspectives and ideas from all around the world.

Lorenzo is married and has 4 kids; two boys and two girls and has enjoyed being able to coach them just as his father did when he was growing up. He has been coaching youth recreational soccer age groups spanning from three to 12 years old, boys, girls, and co-ed for the past 10 years.

This is Lorenzo’s first summer coaching competitive and is looking forward to helping the youth gain a love for the sport as much as he does.

Rachel Morin

Rachel Morin was born and raised in Jamestown, North Dakota where and started playing soccer when she was four years old with the Jamestown Soccer Club. Rachel played soccer for Jamestown High School for four years. Rachel is currently in her final year of school at UND in the Physical Therapy Program.

This is her first year coaching for GGFSC and she will be assisting the U9 girls team this summer.

Taylor Hartze

Taylor Hartze started playing soccer when she was four years old. When she was nine she started playing soccer for GGFSC. Taylor has played high school soccer for Red River High School for the past three years.

This is her first year coaching and she will be assisting the U12 girls team this summer.

Kara Ellis

Kara Ellis has played soccer for over ten years and has played on the East Grand Forks Girls Varsity Soccer team since 8th grade.  She has played competitive soccer for GGFSC for two years prior to this year, and this is her first year coaching for the club.
